UK To Pay £11.6 Billion In Climate Aid In Next Five Years

By Paul Homewood

I FOI’d the Foreign Office for details of the UK’s climate aid payments, and have now got the reply:

In short, in the next five years £11.6bn will be paid out in climate aid to developing countries, an average of £2.3bn a year.

As this is just public ODA money, it does not include money from other sources, such as banks.

The ODA budget is, of course, fixed, so this does not represent extra money as such. It simply reduces the funds available for other aid purposes, such as famine victims or Ethiopian girl bands!

But given the fact that £11.6bn is being paid out for political climate purposes, rather than genuine aid needs, all payments should already be suspended and the proceeds used to reduce energy bills in this country.
