Met Office’s “Record Temperatures” All Come From Junk Sites

Just to follow up on Chris Morrison’s article:

Last week, the weather was pleasant and often balmy across the U.K., and to take full advantage of the gently rising warmth, there was no better place to be than Heathrow Airport. This was the spot where the hottest day U.K. record was secured on no less than five occasions. Further north, heat lovers could have headed for Hull East Park, where the Yorkshire and Humber regional day record was observed no less than four times. Of course, heat lovers might welcome the hot air blast from countless jet engines in the first location and the presence of what appears to be a solar farm located a few metres from the measuring station in the later venue. They certainly don’t appear to be much of a problem for the Met Office either, which compiles these ridiculous figures and claims seemingly for Net Zero political purposes.

Every day, the Met Office publishes the highest recorded temperature for a number of areas across the four countries in the United Kingdom. Every day, many of the same sites feature at the top of the various local lists. Last week, in Scotland, the measuring station at Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, Glasgow and Leuchars featured on four days out of seven, along with Inverbervie on three. In England, Heathrow and Hull East Park were joined by Killowen on four days, along with Usk, Durham and Pershore College on three.

I have checked the WMO classifications for all the sites highlighted:

So all are Class 4s and 5s, except for Heathrow, which certainly should not be a Class 3 (WMO do not take into account for the wider heating effect of airports, only the immediate environment. As we know the Met Office have already admitted that Heathrow temperatures are inflated as much as Central London ones are by artificial warming, which would put it into Class 5).

Surely it is now beyond doubt that the predominance of junk sites that make up most of the Met Office’s station network has significantly increased the average UK temperatures calculated by them above the true underlying ones.

Class
Heathrow 3
Hull 5
Edinburgh 4
Glasgow 4
Leuchars 5
Killowen 5
Usk 5
Durham 5
Pershore 4
Inverbervie 4

Exploding Batteries Spark Deadly S Korea Factory Fire

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

Another one goes up in flames:

A massive factory fire that began after several lithium batteries exploded has killed at least 16 people in South Korea.

The blaze broke out on Monday morning at the Aricell plant in Hwaseong city, about 45km (28 miles) south of the capital Seoul.

Local television footage showed small explosions going off as firefighters sought to put out the fire. A part of the roof had collapsed.

South Korea is a leading producer of lithium batteries, which are used in many items from electric vehicles to laptops.

Hwaseong’s medical authority, Sim Jung-sik, said 16 people have been confirmed dead while seven others were injured.

The Aricell factory housed an estimated 35,000 battery cells on its second floor, where the batteries were inspected and packaged, with more stored elsewhere.

Local fire official Kim Jin-young said the fire began when a series of battery cells exploded, though it remains unclear what triggered the initial explosions.

About 100 workers were on the premises at the time.

Mr Kim said it was difficult to enter the site initially “due to fears of additional explosions”.

As a lithium fire can react intensely with water, firefighters had to use dry sand to extinguish the blaze, which took several hours to get under control.

Lithium batteries are at risk of exploding if they are damaged or overheated. While a fire can be extinguished, it remains at risk of reigniting without warning due to the chemical reaction.
