Moderate to heavy snows across portions of southern New Mexico Monday evening through Wednesday. In the Gila Region expect 6 to 10 inches of snow for areas above 6000 feet with 1 to 5 inches lower elevations. In the lowlands of southern New Mexico expect 1 to 4 inches of snow.
Difficult to dangerous driving conditions from snow covered icy slippery roads and low
visibilities … Cold wind chills as low as 0 will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

…ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM TO IMPACT NEW MEXICO THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT… New Year`s Eve into New Year`s Day.
Widespread snow, blowing snow, freezing fog, low visibility, bitterly cold temperatures will likely result in major travel impacts over the region. The heaviest snowfall storm is expected to impact western and central New Mexico, as well as the high plains of eastern New Mexico.
Up to 20 inches of snow can be expected above 7,500 feet.
Albuquerque can expect about 8 inches.
