The snowfall record for the entire month of November has been broken and ski stations at Saas Fee and Saas Grund are cut off.
Heavy snow hit parts of Switzerland over the weekend (Nov 16 and 17), bringing the monthly total up to 71 cm (28 inches) in Santa Maria, in the country’s east. This broke the previous record of 69 cm (27 inches), also set in Santa Maria, in 1959.
