Arctic Meltdown Delayed Again!

As we start the new year, Arctic sea ice is at its highest extent since 2004, for this time of year:

Having also been the highest during December since 2014:

  It is also close to the 1981-2010 average:

Meanwhile Greenland’s ice cap is also close to average, having finished above average last summer:

Looks like that Arctic death spiral will be delayed another year!
