“Major” cold front.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze watch for Sumter County through Thursday morning. Marion County could also see near-freezing temperatures.
“Patchy frost will form tonight, mainly outside the normally warmer city limits,” says Tom Terry, chief meteorologist for WFTV. “It would come weeks ahead of normal for most, so tender plants that are frost sensitive should be covered or moved indoors tonight. Also, make sure pets have a warm place!”
